About

The White River National Forest Biodiversity blog has been created as a project by a graduate student of Virginia Tech. Its purpose it to detail some of the biodiversity that can be found in the White River National Forest. Also, some of the blogs will address various topics that affect biodiversity such as invasive species, climate, land use patterns, and others in/immediately surrounding the National Forest.

Although the author of this blog is currently residing in Virginia, the White River National Forest has been chosen due to a possible future career move to the National Forest area. Hence, the author is utilizing the study of the National Forest as a means of familiarization with the area. Also, the White River National Forest was chosen due to the author’s previous lack of knowledge on biodiversity topics in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States.
